The garden at the cottage is 1500sqm and is fully fenced with 1.5m bonnox fencing. There is only one cottage on the farm, so you don’t have to worry about other dogs. All dogs are welcome, BIG or small, friendly or not, socialised or not, and perfect and safe for rescues as well. We have a BIG enclosed dam area, WITH NO OTHER FARM ANIMALS, where dogs can run off-leash. There is a lovely 1.6km footpath around the dam for the humans to stretch their legs.
TroutWoods Cottage is located on a working farm close to the town of Dullstroom, Machadodorp and Belfast and offers exclusive, private, self-catering, dog-friendly accommodation, there is only one cottage on the farm and is fenced off. This establishment is a perfect destination for a family getaway with or without pets, a fly-fishing heaven and a hiker’s paradise. This is an ideal getaway for anyone looking for privacy, peace and quiet, and is a place where you can get back in touch with nature. Ideal for gentle walks, hiking, mountain biking, bird watching, swimming and picnicking, the farm also offers spectacular panoramic views.
Trout Woods Cottage is home to many fauna life, ducks and trout which can be found in the dam. The farm boasts 3 well-stocked trout dams (fly fishing ONLY) where guests can fish on a catch-and-release basis. Guests can enjoy an early morning stroll, or sunset walk observing the abundant bird life and game viewing of blesbok, springbok, black wildebeest, fellow deer, and ostriches.
The cottage has a open plan kitchen, lounge dining area with a indoor braai. the kitchen is equipped with all your necessities in order to create a scrumptious meal. There are 2 bedrooms, each with double bed and 2 fold up beds can be arranged for 2 small children. The one bedroom has a fireplace. The lounge has a build in fireplace. There are braai facilities outside in a boma. Pets stay for free.
Guest are to partake in activities such as bird watching, fly-fishing, a relaxing drive to the surrounding towns or mountain biking. Trout Woods Cottage is a beautiful holiday destination with amazing scenery.
Accommodation is ideally suited for families and small groups as follows:
• 2 Adults sharing + 2 adults sharing.
• 2 adults sharing + 2 adults sharing + an additional 1 or 2 children sharing (provided you stipulate to management that you require extra one or two mattresses)
• 2 Adults sharing + 2 children sharing.
• 2 Adults + 2 Children sharing + an additional 1 or 2 children sharing (provided you stipulate to management that you require an extra one or two mattresses)
• Please note that accommodation is not suitable for more than 4 adults.
