Please phone for appointment Info for Fallen Angels Bird Sanctuary and Rescue Facility NPO202-562 Service Type Breed Specific Rescues Brief description of service We are a private NPO bird sanctuary and rescue facility situated in KZN but with members and satellite depots countrywide. We provide lifelong homes for abused, neglected or unwanted birds, as well as birds who need to be rehomed due to a change of human circumstances or behavioural changes with the bird. We are a pro-life Facility and utilise the services of experienced and renowned vets in Pietermaritzburg. We offer a free rescue Facility that may involve physical search and rescue or labour intensive networking through the media. We are an AIS approved Facility, meaning we have the required permits to care for invasive species such as crows, Ringneck parakeets, etc Our facility although private is large, and the birds have human interaction daily. No bird is caged. We have a quarantine area for newcomers and work with our vets on behavioural issues or rehabilitation. Having completed several avial medical courses, our members are able to attend to emergency situations and stabilise until vet treatment is possible. We manufacture toys and life enrichment products for birds, which is a countrywide service. All funds generated are put back into the primarily self-funded sanctuary. We currently have approximately 250 birds of exotic species. We also do accept birds with special needs.
