GoingAway is a professional team for pet and house sitting services. Our database of clients are over 400 in East London. We have currently 19 sitters freelancing for GoingAway. I have personally hand pick the sitters, and all reference checks are done including a police clearance must be done on them before they can even join. I am very strict but that is why we have such a good reputation in East London. I teach each one of them my skills the do’s and don’ts for house and pet sitting, as I have been doing it now for 11 years and have learnt so much in this time, I have mastered the skill. The sitters do sign contacts with us and a two-page list of rules they must abide to at all times. I set very high standards for GoingAway and our Team. (see our Sitters page) I have a big love for animals as I was taught by Kevin Richardson (the lion whisperer) in 2000 where I looked after lions, cheetah and many more cats and other creatures for 5 years of my life, I t was the best years for me as I was always an animal person but this just added to my huge love for them tame and wild. So even if you have a lion, I can look after that too! House and pet sitting is quite a new thing in SA, but people are warming up to it, and in the last 7 years I have personally seen the huge growth in the type of business in Johannesburg and Cape Town. I believe that our pets and home must be cared for while we are away for anything being a holiday, an emergency or for business. We will care for your pets and make sure they are fed and have company they need to make sure the don’t pine for their owners, and for the home, we are a security so the thieves can see there is activity and not attempt to break in. Don’t worry, let us take care of it for you, so you do not have to panic at the last minute! We know how much you care about your extended family. Ensuring that they feel comfortable and safe is important to me; which is why we are happy to attend to them in their own homes. A familiar place to them and a convenience to the customer. We can feed, walk and do all the things that your pets are used to. We can also be a temporary resident in your home if required, depending on the particular pet or situation.
