SA’s Most Trusted Pet Food – Hill’s
Hill’s has been voted the South African public’s most trusted pet food in the Reader’s Digest Most Trusted Brands Survey 2013. This is the first time the survey - which is run in dozens of countries worldwide – has been held in South Africa.
“We are extremely proud that Hill’s was voted the most trusted brand, above both the large volume supermarket brands as well as other premium ranges,” said Carolyn Herrick, General Manager of Hill’s Pet Nutrition South Africa. “Our commitment to ensuring healthy, happy pets is evident in both the foods we make and our support of many animal welfare and rescue programmes. This recognition by the public as South Africa’s most trusted pet food is reinforced by the recommendation by veterinarians as their pet food of choice.”
International survey house Catalyst Research canvassed the opinion of a broad sample of the South African population to identify the most trusted brands in several categories. Some of the comments on Hill’s from those surveyed include:
“Our cats & dogs have always done well on Hills & there's one to suit your pet no matter what problems they may have.” Female, age 65-69, Gauteng
“It is the only brand I used when I had a dog, and it worked very well, my dog lived to be 16 years and was healthy!” Female, age 60-64, Western Cape
“All four dogs are on Hills food - their condition is excellent – Hill’s deliver what they promise.” Female, age 50-54, Kwa-Zulu Natal
Hill’s was launched in the late 1930s by veterinarian Dr Mark L. Morris who had an idea that revolutionised the pet healthcare industry – that certain pet diseases could be managed through clinical nutrition. The first patient to receive this treatment was Buddy – the USA's first seeing-eye dog – who had kidney disease. The treatment was a success, and that first therapeutic dog food evolved into Hill's Prescription Diet k/d – the first commercially available Hill's pet food. In 2013, Hill's Pet Nutrition continues to carry on this philosophy.
Hill’s is available exclusively from veterinary practices and vet shops. For more details speak to your vet or visit www.hillspet.co.za.
