The new Barking Mad website (www.barkingmad.co.za) is up and running, and ready to help deserving pooches find excellent homes. The revamp comes courtesy of long-time supporters Montego Pet Nutrition.
Barking Mad is a networking website which helps the public and shelters to responsibly rehome the animals in their care, across South Africa.
- Amongst a host of other canine-focussed features, the site provides a central point for shelters, and
- the public to find homes for abandoned pets, and
- reunite lost & found pets with their families.
- They also raise funds for sister project Dogtown SA, which rescues, rehabilitates and rehomes misunderstood dogs.
Montego Pet Nutrition Marketing Manager Wilfred Cawood says that they have been supporting Barking Mad for seven years, donating food to the charities that they are affiliated with, and they’re happy to support the team’s efforts. “It is important for us as a company to support someone with integrity, thus we can be assured that the charities linked to Barking Mad operate in an ethical manner and has the needs of animals at heart,” he says. “We review their needs every year and develop projects accordingly. The website is one of the most important tools for Barking Mad in reaching their audience for donations, adoptions, sponsoring pets and generating awareness around the work that is being done. We felt it was necessary to create an environment for users that is easy to use and navigate, in the hope that it leads to more and more people visiting the site and ultimately supporting the organization.”
The new BarkingMad.co.za retains many of the successful tools from the previous version, like the key Sponsor A Pet, Click To Feed, Adopt A Pet, Rehome A Pet and Donate tools, which are now easier to use than ever before.
Reworked content also makes a clearer distinction between Barking Mad and Dogtown SA and giving visitors a defined choice for which cause – if not both – that they’d like to support. “The teams at Neighbourhood Creative – who managed the redesign – and Velvet Films TV – who created the site itself – deserve a lot of credit,” says Cawood. “A big ‘thank you’ to them for their support and willingness to work on the project”.
Tracy McQuarrie of Barking Mad is delighted with the redesign, and trusts that the website’s improved accessibility will make it even easier for interested people to support their cause. “We’re delighted with the site, and grateful to Montego Pet Nutrition for their continued support and belief in the work we do,” she says. “There are so many deserving causes out there for the public to support, and we’re incredibly grateful to anyone who helps us continue the work we love doing so much”.
