RIP Timby

Sometimes there is a dog that just creeps into your heart even when you have hardly had the pleasure to get to know him.  We had the pleasure to give little retired Timby a ride from Cape Town to George, to help him go to his new mommy. This frail little soul could barely walk, he was blind and had no idea where he was going. But we knew that we were taking him to his forever mommy who will look after him and care for him 'for ever'.

A special shout-out goes to Camdeboo Sterilisation Initiative Team and Sandi for making it possible to give this old and blind doggie a loving home for the last year of his life.

Please do consider adopting an old doggie or kitty too when you next wish to take in a new furry member into your family.

Sweet dreams little Timby!

Message from Camdeboo Sterilisation Initiative:

Our condolences goes to CSI Member Sandi on the loss of dear Timba, or Timby as as his Mommy called him.

In his ripe old age he was put up for adoption the beginning of last year after his owners emigrated. Sandi offered to give him a loving home where he could live out the remainder of his days. And a more loving home he could not have hoped for. But alas, the time had arrived for Timby to go play in the golden meadows at Rainbow Bridge all too soon.

Thank you Sandi for looking beyond the special needs of an arthritic, blind old doggie, and still seeing the soul inside in need of love and comfort, especially so much more when they grow old and are even more dependent on their human to look out for them.

We know that Timby will be dearly missed by his Mom and brothers Monty and Peanut, but take comfort in knowing that he had the BEST last year of his life, that he could possibly have had.

Fly free little boy, until we see you again.
