Info for CHAIN Tulbagh Boland Service Type Animal Welfare Organisation or Animal Shelter Brief description of service CHAIN is a registered, non-profit organisation (NPO 77158) working hands on in the communities of Tulbagh, Ceres, Prince Alfred Hamlet, Wolseley and Gouda. We also have a newly launched branch based in the Riebeek Valley. Our Mission has 5 areas of focus: 1. We shall manage the animal population through effective programmes of sterilization and necessary euthanasia; 2. We shall establish well managed foster homes; 3. We shall promote education through community involvement; 4. We shall strive to provide affordable veterinary services for the less privileged members of the community; 5. We shall establish effective fundraising programmes to create sustainable financial stability. We rescue stray animals or those in need. Where appropriate we foster and re-home as many rescues as possible. We have a program to sterilize and vaccinate as many animals in our community as funds allow. Where possible, we assist the poorer members of the community with affordable veterinary services. We run regular clinics in the community where we treat for mange, de-worm etc. We are starting with education programs at schools and in the community. We arrange mass sterilization days (2 per year). Our Services cater for Dogs, Cats Welfare organisation wishlist Our wishlist might change from time to time, but we are in need of the following: .Biggest and on-going need is food (dog,puppy, kitten and cat litter) We would appreciate any cost effective medication (such as de-worming tablets, reduced cost vaccinations etc) We do not yet have proper kennel facilities at our foster home. Any size kennel will be put to good use and provide shelter for the dogs from the harsh conditions. Other items to make it more like home, such as baskets, shade-cloth, roll-on lawn, fencing, poles etc are needed .We appreciate any sponsorship to allow us to sterilize and vaccinate more animals Cost for CHAIN Tulbagh Boland - Subject to Change We charge minimal adoption fees of between R100 and R1000. Our local vets assist us with more affordable rates for essential services such as vaccinations and euthanasia.
